Complying Development is an NSW fast-tracked approval pathway for common residential and commercial development. Your building project must meet specific standards outlined in State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008.
Developments that may qualify to CDC approval are:
- building a one and two storey home
- renovating a home including alterations and additions
- demolishing a building
- retaining walls and cut and fill
- building a fence
- building a swimming pool
The complying development pathway can potentially save homeowners money and complying development certificate can be issued within 10 business days. The certificate is required to be signed off by a certifier who is a building professional usually working in a private practice.
